I had an amazing stay at the Relais & in Bort-l'Etang. the hotel room, although at the top of the tower, was well-appointed and offered breathtaking views. the service was exceptional, starting with the valet who collected our suitcases from the car park. the food at the restaurant was fantastic, especially the cheese platter which came with a guide on the history of the cheeses.
It was a beautiful location with friendly staff and a memorable dining experience. Cons: Nothing at all!

the staff were incredibly friendly and honest, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. the castle itself is absolutely stunning, both inside and out. We enjoyed delicious meals at the excellent restaurant, with a surprise menu and perfectly paired wines. the grounds were beautifully landscaped, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere. As dog owners, it was a joy to find such high-quality accommodation that warmly welcomed our four-legged family members.
Nothing, no complaints at all. 😊

The Chateau is exceptional and the grounds incredible, well worth a visit.
The wi fi wasnt working which is always annoying as these days you rely on this, especially if they have it as a feature of the accomodation.

With its stunning surroundings and plenty of group activities, there was never a dull moment. The full buy-out option allowed us to have privacy and enjoy the beautiful gardens and pool. The staff were incredibly accommodating and made our event truly special.
For dads, it would be great if there were more family-friendly amenities.

A charming getaway in the heart of nature: The private Villa of the castle offers a quiet and serene escape, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Cozy and delightful common area: The living room with a fireplace and the veranda provide the perfect setting for a relaxing meal or lazy afternoon. Captivating historical setting: Explore the round tower and immerse yourself in the charm of the main hall of the Castle. Perfect location for exploring the region: Take a visit to Fourme d'Ambert, just 11 km away, and discover the rich traditions of the area.
Noisy room next door.

We had the most romantic birthday weekend at Chateau Codignat. The castle-like atmosphere made us feel like royalty. Our suite, the Reine Victoria, was spacious and clean, although the bed could have been firmer. The swimming pool area was great for the kids, although some other guests were not as understanding. The highlight was the special birthday cake made by the chef, which was absolutely delicious. we had a wonderful experience and would recommend this hotel.

Staying at a perfectly restored medieval castle is a unique experience. the hotel offers exquisite décor, with every wall painted with murals and stars on the ceiling. the service is very nice and professional, and the sommelier is a hoot. the meals are very impressive, with lovely presentation and local cheeses as one highlight.
Some guests may be annoying or obnoxious at times.

the swimming pool was incredibly relaxing and the location was peaceful and secluded. Our room had many advantages such as private facilities and was impeccably clean.
The service here was not up to par with the other exclusive amenities. Although a minor issue, the staff seemed unorganized and occasionally missed our requests.
